This is the spare tire rack I made at work. It is fairly easy to make
if you have acess to an arch welder,
drill press, and free materials :-)
For the main U shape I used 3/4" rigid electrical conduit. The feet
and the upper wheel rest are made
from 1/4" steel flat. For the front leg I used 1x1" square tube stock.
I cut a U shape out of the top of
the tube to acept the 3/4" conduit. I used a second piece of tube to
support the upper flat. The center
piece where the handle threads into is made from a piece of unistrut
that has a 1/2" nut welded to the
back of it. For the handle (not pictured) I used 1/2" all thread and
a 1/2" pipe "T" to make a "T" shaped
handle. I arch welded it all together. I would have done a step by
step with pics but since I did this all
"on the clock" at work I wasn't gona push it.
